SECTION 5.16 ARC RESISTANCE LIGHTNING TEST

The specially formulated conductive jacket of the VectorFlex-Z CSST was thoroughly tested and evaluated by NTS, a leading testing, inspection, and certification company. In order to see how effective VectorFlex-Z’s protective jacket performed, samples were tested to evaluate potential melt-through from indirect arc attachments triggered by lightning. In all instances, VectorFlex-Z’s protective coating was able to protect the CSST from any type of damage, keeping it safe and fully functional.

All testing for VectorFlex-Z’s protective jacket is listed by CSA International to the performance requirements of the following:

1)
ICC LC1024, PMG Listing Criteria for Conductive Jacketed Corrugated Stainless-Steel Tubing
2)
ANSI LC 1 / CSA 6.26, Part 5.16
3)
ISO/IEC 17025:2005, General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories, Second Edition, 2005
4)
ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994, Calibration Laboratories and Measuring and Test Equipment–General Requirements, 1994
